The Story.
Jill grew up a blue collar girl with a dad that worked in a factory to support his family. She did not attend college and instead found herself job-hopping for most of her twenties until she found her passion of SEO in her early thirties. Her career path included trade show manager, photographer and retail store manager.
In 2004 she started a photography studio that would ultimately lead to her SEO career. She began selling photo gifts in the studio and realized there was an opportunity to go online. Having no knowledge of the internet, or e-commerce, she took the challenge and created her own website.
Ilovephotogifts.com launched in 2006. By 2008 it was doing very well and ranking high for some very competitive keywords. It was doing so well it was beating websites like Snapfish and Shutterfly and was profiled in BusinessWeek Magazine as a success story.
In 2008, Jill sold ilovephotogifts.com and started 2 Dogs Media, an agency focused on SEO and WordPress development. She would continue running the agency until 2021, when she sold the business. She still works in SEO as a freelance consultant while building out Blue Collar Brain.
In 1992, Jill met – and later married a blue collar guy who was also a “lost” twenty year old. Until he attended trade school that is. His career flourished and and allowed him to really see the challenges the blue collar world was facing. Together they created Blue Collar Brain – to make a difference for both employers and career explorers.
She resides in NJ with her husband, daughter, and rescue pets.
