If an MDS number is high, it indicates there is an oversupply of inventory. This is what gives buyers opportunities to get a great deal.
Below are the slowest selling cars for July 2024.
Acura ZDX
The Acura ZDX tops the list of slow-selling cars with a market day supply of 599 days. This electric car received a 8 out of 10 stars from Car and Driver, but consumers seem to feel it is overpriced and are not impressed with the interior. The average selling price of $70,450 is higher than the new car average which can be a big factor in the inventory surplus. In a 45-day period, just 223 units were sold leaving an inventory of 2,968.
Fiat 500e
The Fiat 500e with its compact look and affordable price has 2,968 cars available for sale. At the current rate it would take 599 days to sell through that inventory. The car is the most affordable on this list with an average selling price of $34,683.
Dodge Hornet
The Dodge Hornet, with an average selling price of $42,644, currently has a 384 day market supply. Although 1,889 were sold in the last 45 days, the total still available for sale comes in at a hefty 16,131 units. Car and Driver gave this model a relatively good 7.5 star rating, but car enthusiasts seem unimpressed with the looks and price.
Maserati Levante
The Levante faces stiff competition in the crowded luxury SUV market from established brands like Porsche and BMW, which may contribute to its lower sales figures. With an average selling price of $101,705 it definitely comes out at a high price in a crowded luxury market. There were 118 units sold in a 45-day period leaving 903 available. It would take 344 days to sell through the remaining cars.
Audi Q4 e-tron
It will take 254 days to sell through the 5,154 Audi Q4 e-tron vehicles that are available. This electric vehicle has an average selling price of $63,439 and has sold 914 units in a 45-day period.
Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron
The Audit Q4 Sportback e-tron also makes the list of slowing selling cars. While 287 units were sold in a 45-day period, there are still 1,515 remaining. The average selling price for this model is $66,155 and it will take 238 days to sell through.
Lincoln Navigator
With an average selling price of $104,745, it is no surprise that the Lincoln Navigator made the list. There were 1,722 units sold in a 45-day period, but there is still 9,107 still remaining. It will take 238 days to sell through that inventory.
Jaguar XF
The Jaguar XF is a luxury model with an average selling price of $58,406. There are currently 815 units for sale after selling 160 of the model in a 45-day period. It would take 225 days to sell through all available units.
Jeep Gladiator
With an average selling price of $53,516, the Jeep Gladiator actually comes in at one of the more affordable models on this list. The total sold in a 45 day period was 5,307 but the available inventory is 26,504. It would take approximately 225 days to sell through this inventory at current sales rates.
Ram 3500
The Dodge Ram 3500 is the ultimate workhorse with an average selling price of $79,453. There were 3,828 units of this model sold in a 45 day period, but there are still over 19,000 available. The total MDS supply is currently 224 days.
